A breeze
blows in, lifts her
with ease –
this shell.
As I whisper
farewell,
Godspeed –
the ties that bind
recede.

A great musette, Ryan! It appears that some loves are lighter than air and are easily blown away. There is a sadness in your words that has a deeper impact because of how you contrast the parting with well-wishes. Love the image, too!

I imagine a pretty young think with a tissue paper-like doll exterior fluttering off into that beautiful skyline. Whilst outwardly pretty and delicate, I sense the partner is somewhat relieved.

I agree. The imagery makes it so poignant and yet, there is a sweetness to it too in letting go.

Letting go is never easy.. but there are things we cannot change. The pain is palpable and the longing is tangible. Sending you a lot of warm California Hugs my friend!
