Night Music

Blood moon,
cold witness to
this tune

I sing
to the night. I’m
missing

old dreams;
a face, pale as
moonbeams.

  1. And she listens to your tunes, and sends you images in your heart, to warm the night… Sigh.. I had missed your musettes! So happy you are back. May the day be bright and beautiful like your verses! welcome back πŸ™‚

  2. Ryan, you have no idea how good it is to see you. I think I was beginning to get withdrawal lol. But seriously, I asked about you, went to your site to see if i had accidentally unfollowed you. I hadn’t. Welcome back my friend, you were missed. And I’ve gone private. Please request access, I’d really like you in my circle of love.

  3. Ryan, this is lovely as ever. I’m always amazed regardless of the theme, how you’re able to spin words making them dance for you. I’m completely intrigued by this poem, beautifully capturing the emotions associated with love, loss and a sense of longing, but also for me talks to the idea of the Blood Moon Prophecy. Excellent, I so enjoy the layers found within your writing. Stunning image as well! Please take good care, enjoy your week in all your pursuits. ~ Mia

  4. ‘old face pale as moonbeams’ – I can’t get that line out of my head. It’s such a fantastic description. I love that the “blood moon” is a witness–makes me wonder if there’s a crime it’s witnessing. Are you perhaps dead? The next stanza claims you “sing to the night. I’m /missing.” maybe kidnapped? You’re now missing. I could be reading too much into this. I have read (ahem listened) to 4 Jack Reacher books by Lee Child in the last 3 days. So my mind is on matters criminal and I just toggled between meetings, so I’m playing with half a deck at most. Excellent poem! Hope I didn’t read too much into it πŸ™‚

  5. Ryan, I see from the comments you’ve been away, I didn’t know as my life has been too crazy to be on WordPress very much lately…and now to stop rambling…my point was/is that I hope you’ve had a nice, chilled break and that you’ve come back fully inspired. This is lovely, as ever πŸ™‚
