My name is Ryan Stone, I’m a freelance writer from Melbourne, Australia. I have no formal credentials, just an observer’s eye and a mad appetite for books. I’m rough around the edges but the right turn of phrase will stop me dead in my tracks every time. I love Metallica and Ted Kooser with equal passion and my closest friend in the world is my Belgian Malinois.

Thanks for stopping, please feel free to say hi ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Your poetry is so tender and passionate and filled with emotion. It speaks of a beautiful soul so connected to the world and the flow of Love and creation. Your poems are so expressive, many of them are intensely emotional others soft with vulnerability. I loved visiting here very much! โค

    • Very cool! I don’t seem to meet too many Aussies here – I guess we aren’t the poetry capital of the world after all ๐Ÿ˜œ
Which state do you live in? I’m very happy to have found your site – you have a way with words. Thank you for leaving a comment ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Hi, I am Ann! I accidentally saw your interview at one of the blogs and your answers as well as poems caught my interest! It is so interesting to meet you! I am not so good at dealing with rhymes, prefer funny prose, but what a pleasure to enjoy such deep and emotional thoughts! I will look around for a while…Ann

  7. I’ve been seeing you around my most-admired poetic friends but been to shy to visit your abode. Then, I finally let go and click your name. Voila. I saw your poems and regret why I waited too long. I am Rosema of A Reading Writer. And I want to ask for your permission to litter your blog with comments. ๐Ÿ™‚ I believe I will love my stay. I hope you would say yes. Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Aren’t you lovely, Rosema?! Thank you for making such a thoughtful introduction – you’ve left a big smile on my face. Please feel free to ‘litter’ away to your heart’s content. I read and reply to every comment and, in truth, the feedback I receive is a big part of what keeps me writing.

I’m so very happy you found your way across here. Please don’t be shy – make yourself at home, I really hope you’ll find enough to keep you coming back. I’m hard to offend, too, so if you have any suggestions or criticisms, always feel free to fire away.

I’ll visit your site as soon as time allows me to. Thank you again, you are very welcome ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. Hi Ryan,
An anonymous judge in a poetry contest I recently entered (took the first place award) recommended I read some of your work on your website. She/he could tell by the subject matter of my poem that I was or had been a police officer. I’m very thankful to whoever that judge is as I really enjoyed reading your pieces. Powerful, and your imagery so vivid. And as a former K-9 officer, your poem “Green Dream” brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for sharing your beautiful and heartfelt work.

    • Hi, Terry. Thanks so much (and also to your anonymous judge!). Iโ€™m glad you found your way here. Congratulations on your poetry win, Iโ€™ll see if I can track your winning poem down. Iโ€™m so happy to hear my writing hit you the way it did – a big compliment. Best of luck with your writing. Donโ€™t be a stranger ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. I feel like I’ve already left a comment here and well, if I have, I’m leaving another one damnit!

Your work is so incredible Ryan, you truly know how to captivate your readers and leave them wanting just a little bit more. Glad to have crossed paths with you on this writing journey and in this life.

PS Can you really ever have too much coffee?
